Letting Go of “I”, Casually, Easily, Everyday Style

Practiced letting go of “I” during a rowing machine workout, as I often do.

Realized that the result is being more present, being more focused and more open at the same time (!), stronger, less inhibited...

Mainly realized that letting go of “I” can be considered a practice (practice life!) tool rather than a deep philosophical concept to be understood! A much lighter vibe there - just do it!

The reason it works and has wonderful results like those above is that so much of the thinking that distracts us from the present moment and hampers our creativity, involvement in what we’re doing, etc., is based on this idea of “I”. E.g., “I want this, I don’t like that, what should I do next, how am I going to deal with that”, etc...

Letting go of the “I” concept (which is, after all, just a concept!), these kind of thoughts, and our concern about them, drop away. Then, our full awareness is in the present moment and whatever we’re doing there. Also, the small “I” identity expands to where we experience that we are actually Everything - this consciousness, this awareness, is all One!!

Studying concepts, philosophizing, has its place, but taking that seriousness away from letting go of “I” and just practicing it gives us a natural way of practicing that can easily become part of our daily lives!!

So, let’s do it!!!
