DLMP - and Life! - in a Nutshell

Continuing to study and practice Dr. Thynn Thynn’s teachings - getting close to finishing “Meditate without Meditating”, and re-reading “Living Meditation, Living Insight”.

Both books teach a path that is very simple, yet has a profound difference in one’s life.

It’s a path I have also experienced - but reading the books and doing the exercises and practices from them has clarified and greatly reinforced that that Path is, indeed, the Way!!

==============

So, in a nutshell, here it is:

Mindfulness, esp. of our mind states, fulfills all steps of the Eightfold Path, from morality to mindfulness, to right action, etc.This is because mindfulness silences the delusions in thoughts and emotions, and allows our innate wisdom and compassion to appear, and determine our actions and speech.

So, here is the complete, simple Path:

Be mindful always: of whatever you’re doing, and of whatever thoughts and emotions come up. Avoid feeding thoughts about what’s happening. If you do, notice it and just come back.With regular (constant) practice, this mindfulness becomes a habit and works automatically.The awareness and mental quiet (“Momentary Samadhi”) that results allows our innate wisdom and compassion to appear, and to reveal the best course of action and speech to take. This results in a life of creativity and joy!
